Celtic fan killed on motorway after boarding wrong bus is named
A Celtic fan who died after being hit by a vehicle on the M6 in Cumbria has been named by police.
John Burns, 22, from Glasgow was struck near junction 42 shortly after 20:00 on Saturday.
It is understood Mr Burns had earlier boarded the wrong bus following Celtic's game against Hearts in Glasgow.
Fellow supporters are planning to hold a minute's applause for the father-of-one during Wednesday's Champions League game against Slovan Bratislava.
A tribute to Mr Burns in a fundraising post on social media said: 鈥淛ohn was loved by all his family and friends.
鈥淗e has a gorgeous wee boy and partner and really was adored for just being wee John."
A Celtic fan's group also posted: "He was at the Celtic game on Saturday. No one should ever go to a game and not come home, no one.
"We ask that you please join in the minute's applause on the 23rd minute on Wednesday night."
Police in Cumbria are appealing for information about the accicident which took place at junction 42 of the M6.
Officers have asked anyone with information or dashcam footage of the area around the roundabout and bridges or travelling on the M6 northbound or southbound between 19:50 and 20:10 on Saturday to
