Five people have been arrested after cars were set on fire over the weekend.
About 50 people gathered on Malvern Fields in Seaham, County Durham, on Saturday evening.
Durham Police said those in attendance drove their own vehicles around the fields, before the cars were set on fire.
The force said four men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and public order offences.
They all remain in police custody.
A police spokesperson said there was a "large police presence within the area around Malvern Crescent" for much of Saturday evening and night.
"There will be an ongoing police presence in the area as we work with local residents to investigate the incident and prevent any further disorder," they said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
