Charges have been dropped against a man in an investigation into child sexual exploitation in a town.

The cases involve alleged attacks on two teenage girls in Rochdale between 2001 and 2006, Greater Manchester Police said.

Five men from Rochdale, one from Llandudno, one from Burnley and one of no fixed address were originally charged with a number of offences including rape, gross indecency, trafficking and other sexual offences.

A Rochdale man has now had charges discontinued, police have confirmed.

Dozens of men have been charged as part of the force's investigation - known as Operation Lytton - into historical sex offences against children.
