Two friends died when the quad bike they were travelling on during a family holiday crashed, an inquest has heard.
Cory Dove and Matthew Steward, both 26, were in Turkey when they suffered "multiple traumatic injuries" on 14 May.
The friends, from Harwich, both died from their wounds in the early hours of that morning.
Senior coroner for Essex, Lincoln Brookes, opened and adjourned inquest proceedings and said a full hearing would be held in February 2025.
Mr Brookes said an investigation by Turkish authorities would take place first.
The hearing at Essex coroner's court in Chelmsford was told Mr Dove had been driving the quad bike, with Mr Steward as his passenger.
They were involved in a "road traffic collision with another vehicle" in the early hours, coroner's officer Jordan Brown said.
A fundraiser has been launched online to raise money for Mr Steward's funeral.
Mr Brookes said he wanted to send his "deepest condolences" to the loved ones of the victims.
