A car has collided with a house, resulting in "significant damage" to its structure, Lincolnshire Police said.

Officers were deployed to Gainsborough Road, Middle Rasen, shortly after midnight.

The driver, who was the sole person in the car, was reported to have fled. Following a search, a 46-year-old man was found by drone in a field about 400m (1,312ft) away.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving over the legal alcohol limit and being drunk and disorderly and remains in custody.

The force is encouraging people with any information, including dashcam footage, to get in touch.
