Betting shop robbery suspect charged

A man has been charged in connection with a robbery at a betting shop in Crewe town centre.
The 35-year-old was arrested on Middlewich Road, Sandbach, following reports of an incident on Market Street, Crewe, on Thursday afternoon.
The man, from Holmes Chapel Road, Holmes Chapel, is accused of robbery, criminal damage and possession of a class B drug, said Cheshire Police.
He was remanded in custody after appearing before Chester magistrates on Saturday and is due before the city's crown court on 20 May.
