Man charged with delivery driver attempted robbery

A man has been charged over an alleged attempted cash-in-transit robbery following an incident at a post office in Leeds.
Police were called to Elford Grove Post Office, in Harehills Road, on Monday after reports a delivery driver had been attacked.
Anthony Bryant, 54, who was arrested at the scene, has also been charged with possession of an axe in a public place and resisting a police constable at Leeds General Infirmary.
Mr Bryant, of Leopold Street, Chapeltown, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court earlier where he was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 20 November.
