A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a vehicle crashed into a house in Cornwall.

Officers were called to Helston Road, Penryn, at about 08:55 BST and the road was subsequently closed, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Gas services attended to make a gas leak safe and a small number of homes were evacuated.

The force confirmed the road had since reopened and residents were now back in their properties.
