Indian bank staff praised for fending off robbers

Two Indian women are being hailed for their bravery in fighting off robbers at the State Bank of India branch where they work near New Delhi.
The reports how Vimla Devi and Poonam were confronted by two men who entered the bank in Gurgaon pretending to be customers. The suspects are alleged to have drawn guns on them, while attempting to hit them and take money from the counter.
The two women fought back, however, and managed to snatch one of the guns from one of the attackers and raise the alarm. Several people came to their aid, and the two men were apprehended.
The quoted a Gurgaon police commissioner saying the women would be honoured for showing "exemplary courage".
