The National Theatre's production of One Man, Two Guvnors is to transfer to Broadway next year.

Gavin and Stacey star James Corden will reprise his role in the comedy about a hapless man who finds himself working for two small-time crooks.

It will open at the Music Box Theatre on 18 April, with previews from on 6 April.

The show began a four-month run at the Adelphi Theatre in the West End last week.

Written by Richard Bean and based on Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters, the production had a sold-out run when it first opened at the National in May.

It was also broadcast in cinemas in September as part of the National's NT Live series.

Sir Nicholas Hytner will again direct the play, however the rest of the UK cast have not yet been confirmed for the Broadway run.

The show received rave reviews when it first opened, with calling it "one of the funniest productions in the National's history".
