    Forecasters say it will stay cold in the county today, reaching highs of 3C.

    The snow will linger in the morning but is expected to clear to the south, with icy conditions expected to lead to some travel disruption.

    Meanwhile, Ambergate - below - has also seen a lot of snowfall.

    Bus operators across Derbyshire have said some routes are cancelled, while others are missing parts of their services due to weather conditions.

    Trentbarton has said the Nines, which runs between Derby and Mansfield, was one of the routes missing sections of its service.

    The Swift is operating between Derby and Ashbourne via main roads only, and there is no service to Langley Country Park, Ashbourne Hill Top estate and between Ashbourne and Uttoxeter.

    On the Sixes, which run between Belper - pictured below - and Derby, the 6.2, 6.3, 6.4/X are all suspended and all buses are running as 6.0 between Derby and Belper.

    More information on how Trentbarton's services have been affected by the weather can be found .

    Arriva said due to adverse weather conditions service 2 is currently unable to serve High Street and Coal Lane, in Ticknall. It will instead divert via A514 Main Street.

    Hulleys of Baslow said it was running services as "best we can with the adverse weather" and was sticking to the main roads.

    It said the 63 Chesterfield to Matlock, 6 Chesterfield to Old Brampton, and 110/111 Ashbourne to Matlock services were not running, and more information can be found on its Facebook page.

    Derbyshire County Council has said Rushup Edge and Winnats Pass have been reopened.

    They are both "passable with care".

    The authority asked people to "please keep safe today on our roads".

    East Midlands Airport is open but there may be delays while snow is cleared and planes are de-iced.

    A spokesperson said: "We're happy to report that our runway is clear of snow, although some departures may still experience delays as our teams de-ice planes and clear the walkways.

    "Please check with your airline for the latest flight information and allow extra travel time today. Thank you for your patience and understanding."

    More than 10 schools across Derbyshire have so far announced they will be closed today due to snow.

    Derbyshire County Council said Lady Manners School in Bakewell, Sawley Infant and Nursery School, Sawley Junior School, and Ambergate Primary School were among the ones that are shut.

    Anthony Gell School in Wirksworth, South Darley Church of England Primary School, Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Ashbourne will also not open.

    Today is expected to be cold. Lingering snow is possible in the morning, clearing to the south to leave mostly cloudy skies. The cloud may break up to bring some late brightness towards the evening.

    Tonight it is expected to be very cold with clear skies and a chilly northerly wind developing. It will be an icy night.

    Derbyshire County Council has said gritters have been out since 04:00 GMT, salting the primary snow routes across the county.

    Meanwhile, farmers have been ploughing "secondary snow routes" from 07:00 this morning.

    Roads that are closed include:

    • B6014 at Ogsten, Tansley to Stretton
    • Church Lane at Quarndon
    • A57 Snake Pass
    • Winnats Pass
    • Rushup Edge from Chapel to Castleton
    • Mam Nick

    The A5004 Long Hill, Buxton to Whaley Bridge was shut overnight but has reopened.

    The council warned a number of trees have fallen due to the weight of the snow, mainly in and around the Matlock area.

    People have been asked to take extra care if out and about, and allow additional time for your journey.
