Chipmunk's schedule and finishing his A-levels left him exhausted

Chipmunk has insisted that he is "all good" after a bout of exhaustion that forced him to cancel a string of appearances.

Earlier this month the 18-year-old put up a series of worrying messages on his Twitter page, including "I want to die" and "is suicide easy".

His record label said that a hectic work schedule, including completing his A-levels, had taken its toll.

Speaking to 1xtra News, the rapper said: "When you're doing music and pursuing your dreams sometimes it can get a bit much. It's been a difficult two years for me but I'm in good health."

He is now back at work and says that he has "eased off the internet access at the minute. I am focusing on my personal life and my music".

Chipmunk, real name Jamal Fyffe, has announced plans for his first solo tour.

"We've got about 14 dates starting from 12 February," he revealed. "It's going to be massive, live bands and all that. We're going to make it something really special."

He said that he would be supported on tour by British acts including Skepta, Tinie Tempah and 15-year-old newcomer Daisy Dares You.

In October, Chipmunk reached number one in the UK singles chart with his track Oopsy Daisy. He also collected a best hip hop award at this year's Mobos.
