Producer and artist Labrinth, the man behind Tinie Tempah's Pass Out, says he wants to sign his sister Sherelle.

The 21-year-old, who scored a number three hit with Let The Sun Shine in October, said "I'm going to sign her eventually".

He added: "She's a great singer and she's going to be another one in this country."

Labrinth, real name Tim McKenzie, is the only non-X Factor signing to Simon Cowell's Syco record label.

He said: "I have loads of family and every single one of them is amazing. My brother plays for Tinie and my sister is a singer."

He was speaking as he appeared on MTV UK's Brand New for 2011 list - the new artist they're tipping for 2011.

Sherelle has worked with Guy Chambers in the past, who co-wrote many of Robbie Williams' hits, while brother Josh has played drums for Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield.

Debut album

"Last year was the perfect year for me as a producer and this year I want to take them by storm as an artist," Labrinth said.

Labrinth says he's "cut down" on producing other artists and will concentrate on finishing his debut solo album, due in early 2011.

"I'm an addictive worker", he admitted.

"I had to cut down for my own thing. I'm looking at myself as an artist more.

"I don't make songs and give them to an artist, I make songs for an artist. I call it tailoring.

"If someone is a different shape it's not going to work with them. I can't give my song to somebody else, it wouldn't work."

He also gave Newsbeat his own predictions for potential stars to watch out for in 2011.

"Devlin is going to come up - he's got crazy potential, Wretch 32, Jessie J she's an amazing singer.

"We need those singers in our industry. We don't have those power singers, those Beyonces and Rihannas.

"I think she's going to take that place in this country."
