Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe is taking over the Chris Moyles breakfast show for one week at the beginning of January.

It's part of a series of temporary changes that will see the daytime schedule handed over to the station's evening specialists.

Annie Mac will host Fearne Cotton's show (10am-12.45pm), Huw Stephens will sit in for Greg James (1-4pm) and Nick Grimshaw will replace Scott Mills (4-5.45pm and 6-7pm).

The changes will start on 3 January.

One of the highlights will be the announcement of the winner of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sound of 2011 poll.

The survey, compiled from the views of music critics and industry experts, aims to highlight some of the rising stars tipped for big things in the coming year.

New music

Zane Lowe will count down the top five most voted for acts through his week as breakfast host and will unveil the winner on Friday 7 January.

Ellie Goulding was the winner of the ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sound of 2010 with previous winners including Little Boots, Adele, Mika, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Bravery, Keane and 50 Cent.

Deputy Controller of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1 and ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio 1Xtra Ben Cooper said: "Supporting new music is extremely important to Radio 1.

"Over the last 12 months we have played a major part in breaking artists like The XX, Mumford & Sons, Plan B, Biffy Clyro and Marina & The Diamonds plus many more and 2011 will be no different.

"January will be exciting for Radio 1 as we turn the schedule on its head to bring our audiences even more brand new music and live events all month long."

Radio 1 will be highlighting new music at the beginning of 2011 with a special week of ´óÏó´«Ã½ Introducing (10-14 January) which will see a new artist's track added to the daytime playlist.

More themed weeks include In New Music We Trust (17-21) and In New DJs We Trust (24-28).
