Simon Cowell reveals his plans for a new music show
Simon Cowell is planning to launch a weekly chart show on British TV, saying "there's a market for a new show".
The 51-year-old said the programme would cost "a lot of money" but said he wanted to do it because "there's interest in music again".
He said: "We've had an idea we've been working on for a while. It's the right time to do it."
The news comes after Simon Cowell's flagship programme The X Factor ended with Matt Cardle winning the title.
The music boss added: "The chart and records this year have been better this year have been better than I can remember for a long, long time."

UK television has been without a weekly chart-based show since Top Of The Pops came to an end in July 2006.

However, many artists have championed the return of a music-based programme.
Scouting For Girls' bassist Greg Churchouse is among them.
"It's gapingly wide the hole that Top Of The Pops has left," he said.
"It's a shame that it's gone. It was such a universal show."
Lead singer Roy Stride added: "There's no big prime time show - I can't believe there's no room for it."
Singer Ellie Goulding said: "I don't think there's anything on TV that, not mentioning any shows, that promotes new music."
