Cheryl Cole says she has "no regrets" after being dropped as a judge from the American version of The X Factor.

Speaking at the Pride of Britain awards in London, the Girls Aloud singer said she "didn't do regrets".

The 28-year-old was replaced by former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger, who had originally been hired to co-host the show with Steve Jones.

Producers were said to have been worried about Cole's Geordie accent but US critics gave her positive reviews.

The LA Times described her as "fabulous" while the New York Times said she "showed glimmers of being interesting".

Cheryl Cole, Simon Cowell and Dannii Minogue were replaced on the UK version of The X Factor by Kelly Rowland, Gary Barlow and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos.

Tulisa says there are no hard feelings between the pair.

"I haven't seen Cheryl in a long while so it would be great to see her," she said.

"There'll be a cuddle, a conversation, we'll have a glass of wine and have a chat."
