Calvin Harris makes chart history with nine top 10s

Calvin Harris has broken his own chart record by becoming the first artist to have nine top 10 singles from one studio album.

His track Thinking About You, featuring singer Ayah Marar, climbed to number nine on the Official Chart at the weekend.

It's the latest track taken from his number one album, 18 Months.

Calvin tweeted: "Made a bit of chart history today!

"Thinking About You went Top 10 in UK...the first time anyone has had nine top 10 singles from one album!"

In April, Calvin beat Michael Jackson's record of seven top 10 singles from one album when I Need Your Love, featuring Ellie Goulding, climbed to Number 10.

His run began back in June 2011 when his track Bounce, featuring Kelis, went to number two in the chart.

Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe tweeted Calvin about the success saying: "Incredible, man. Congrats."

Close contenders

18 Months is Calvin Harris' third studio album and has sold more than 540,000 copies in the UK since its release in October last year.

It spent two weeks at number one and has been in the top 40 Official Album Chart for 40 weeks.

Jessie J was the first British female to score six top 10 hits from one album, including Domino and LaserLight from the platinum edition of her 2011 debut album Who You Are.

She is tied with Lady Gaga, who also achieved six top 10 hits from 2008's The Fame and 2009's The Fame Monster (expanded edition).

Katy Perry has also had six singles in the top 10 from her second album Teenage Dream (2010), including the 2012 deluxe edition Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.

Take That's 1993 album Everything Changes also had six top 10 singles.
