Sam Bailey still leading Christmas number one chart race
Sam Bailey is still on track to claim this year's Christmas number one.
According to the Official Charts Company, The X Factor winner's single, Skyscraper, has been downloaded more than 67,000 times in the UK.
Her cover of Demi Lovato's track has sold more than two-and-a-half times more than her closest rival, Pharrell Williams' Happy.
"To think my single is in the running is just amazing," said the 36-year-old former prison guard.
Bailey, who performed at half-time during Leicester's Capital One Cup match on Tuesday night, could see a further sales boost as the weekend approaches with the CD version of the single now on sale.
Last month it was announced that the profits of the winner's single would be given to charity.
Meanwhile, Leona Lewis is at number three with her festive single, One More Sleep.
The former X Factor winner set a new Official Chart record at the weekend by becoming the first British female solo artist to score eight top five singles.
Swedish DJ and producer Avicii has fallen two places since the weekend to number four in the midweek chart with Hey Brother, while AC/DC are at number five with Highway To Hell.
The band are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year and despite having 11 top 10 UK albums, including three number ones to their name, they could earn their first ever top 10 single.
The cut-off point for sales to be counted towards this year's Official Christmas number one is midnight on Saturday.
This year's Christmas number one will be announced Radio 1's Official Chart Show with Jameela Jamil and Scott Mills on 22 December.
