12,500 consider royal job advertised on LinkedIn
Thousands of people have viewed a job advertised by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.
They are hiring a senior communications officer to support their Royal Foundation work, including their Heads Together mental health campaign.
The role, based at Kensington Palace, has been looked at more than 12,500 times on LinkedIn.
The successful candidate will "managing the daily news flow to the media".
The advert reportedly attracted over 1,000 applicants.
Describing the ideal applicant, the job description says: "Applicants must have extensive experience within a marketing, media or PR office, with a relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) and, ideally, have experience of working within the charity sector.
The successful applicant will work 37 and a half hours a week.
"The ability to make decisions, using integrity and judgment whilst exercising caution, is also essential for the job, as is the ability to handle sensitive information with tact and discretion at all times."
Based on his surprise visit to Radio 1 earlier this year, it's likely Prince William has been lurking on LinkedIn for a while, perhaps with a pseudonym.
He told Scott Mills that he often texts the Radio 1 Early Breakfast Show under a different name.
"I have text in to Adele's [Roberts] show most recently.
"I got a shout-out, I felt very privileged."
