Dave Grohl: Taylor Swift and Adele not on Foo Fighters new album

Dave Grohl has put an end to rumours that Taylor Swift or Adele will appear on Foo Fighters' new album.

The frontman previously told Annie Mac on Radio 1 that their upcoming record Concrete And Gold features the "biggest pop star in the world".

Fans have been speculating who the guest could be, with Taylor and Adele leading the rumour mill.

"Neither Adele nor Taylor Swift sang on the record," the frontman told

However, he refused to confirm who the singer in question actually is.

He sparked the rumours speaking to Annie Mac ahead of the band's headline set at Glastonbury.

When asked about the recording of the new album, the frontman said: "We've made the biggest sounding Foo Fighters song we've ever made.

"I think it's going to take people by surprise.

"We have a bunch of guests.

"There's one who is probably the biggest pop star in the world who sings back-up... and we're not telling anyone who it is.

"Me and this awesome sweet, and talented megastar were having a cocktail at the end of the night and we decided to do a little thing."

"We'll tell people when the album stops selling."

Boyz II Men appear on the album, they're seemingly not the same "biggest pop stars in the world"

Dave Grohl previously said 1990s soul band Boyz II Men sing backing vocals on the album.

He told ´óÏó´«Ã½ 6 Music the unusual collaboration came about when he spotted a member of the group in a car park near the recording studio he was working in.

He explained how the boyband, who are best known for the ballad End Of The Road, ended up singing the "heaviest" song on the record.
