Reality star Ferne McCann has released a statement after her ex-boyfriend was found guilty of carrying out an acid attack.

Arthur Collins injured 22 people when he threw the noxious substance inside a club in Dalston, east London.

He will be sentenced for the offence in December.

Former Towie star Ferne recently gave birth to her and Arthur Collins' first baby but a statement says she'll raise the child "alone."

"Ferne's thoughts are of course with the innocent people caught up in the events at Mangle last April," says a statement released on her behalf.

"No-one should ever be faced with violence on a night out."

The message also addresses her new role as a mum and how she's adapting to motherhood.

"Having given birth a month ago, Ferne is focusing on being the best mother she can be," it says.

"She long ago accepted that she would be doing this alone and is determined to provide the best possible future for her daughter."

During his trial, Arthur Collins claimed he thought the liquid he threw was a date rape drug he'd snatched from other clubbers.

A jury found him guilty of the acid attack on Monday.

One victim of his attack told Newsbeat about the moment she was burned by the acid Arthur Collins threw.

"I felt liquid drench my entire chest and arm and it burnt through my chest," said Phoebe Georgiou.

"I looked down and it started eating my skin."

She says the pain was "indescribable" and that months after the April attack, she is still suffering mental and physical trauma.
