EuroMillions jackpot of 拢81m won by UK ticket holder

An 拢81m EuroMillions jackpot has been claimed by a British ticket holder.

The prize, won in Tuesday's draw, is the sixth-largest ever paid to a UK lottery winner.

Lottery company Camelot said earlier the winner was considering "whether to go public", but later confirmed the ticket holder would remain anonymous.

British winners have claimed more than 拢4bn in prizes since EuroMillions draws began in 2004, and 61 UK tickets have won all or part of a jackpot.

The latest prize of 拢81,381,673 was won by a ticket with the numbers 34, 38, 13, 8, 26 and Lucky Star numbers 3 and 11.

"The claim has been validated and the prize is in the process of being paid out," said the Camelot spokeswoman.

Winning a large sum can be an "overwhelming and emotional experience", according to Camelot's website, and winners are given advice on how to cope with their new-found wealth.

The largest EuroMillions jackpot claimed to date was won by Colin and Christine Weir, of Largs in Scotland.

The couple won 拢161 million in July 2011.

They have since set up the Weir Charitable Trust to improve quality of life in Scotland.
