M6 Toll road price increases
Price increases on the M6 Toll take effect from today.
Owners Midland Expressway Limited have put up prices for cars by 30p, taking the price to 拢5.30 between 0600 GMT and 2300 GMT. Lorry drivers will pay an extra 60p, taking it to 拢10.60.
A spokesman said the rise is in line with inflation and follows the recent 2.5% VAT increase.
Birmingham's Chamber of Trade has said it has been told by firms that they did not use it because of the cost.
The toll road covers 27 miles (43.5km) from Junction 11a on the M6 near Cannock, Staffordshire, rejoining the M6 at Junction 3a at Coleshill, Warwickshire.
Prices are cheaper overnight and during weekends.
