A man has appeared in court accused of causing a motorcyclist's death in a road crash.

A Ford Fiesta collided with Ducati motorcyclist William Kerslake, 57, on the B1122 in Theberton, Suffolk, in June last year.

Stuart Burrows, 37, of Millfields in Saxmundham, appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court and was released on bail.

Mr Kerslake was described by family as a "kind, loving and selfless man".

Mr Burrows is charged with causing death by careless driving while under the influence of drugs and is next due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court.

Police said Mr Burrows sustained minor injuries, while Mr Kerslake died at the scene.

Mr Kerslake was chairman of Halesworth Town football club and in a joint statement released last year, his family said his death had left an "irreplaceable hole" in their lives.
