Bedfordshire Police investigate after body found in Harrold
The death of a woman found dead in a village is being treated as unexplained, police said.
Bedfordshire Police was called at about 08:00 GMT after the body was discovered close to Brook Lane, in Harrold, to the north of Bedford.
A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene near the Oakley Arms pub and the Harrold Centre community venue.
The woman's next of kin have been informed, police said.
A file will be prepared and passed to the coroner.
