A man has denied kidnapping a wealthy businessman at a golf club as part of an alleged blackmail plot.
The victim was playing a round at Brocket Hall golf club near Welwyn Garden City in Hertfordshire on 24 October when he was allegedly abducted.
Prosecutors claimed a substance was sprayed in his face, he was handcuffed and dumped in the back of the car.
Tianfu Guo appeared at Huntingdon Crown Court charged with kidnap, blackmail and causing grievous bodily harm.
The 35-year-old, of no fixed abode, denied the offences.
Recorder William Hansen said a trial was expected to take place on 8 April.
No other arrests have been made in connection with the kidnap.
