Ikea bid to open Reading store to be decided at meeting

Ikea's bid to open a 拢10m store in Reading will be decided at a council planning meeting later.

Some residents and businesses have objected to the plan for the store at Pincents Lane Retail Park because of traffic congestion fears.

A meeting with Ikea planners on Monday allowed residents to view the plans. West Berkshire Council is set to make a decision at the meeting.

Ikea said it would create 400 jobs and pledged to spend 拢5m on roadworks.

The site, which is currently derelict, is near the A4 Bath Road and junction 12 of the M4.
