Almost 300 people have been charged in connection with last summer's riots in the West Midlands.

A police report into the disorder revealed more 169 people have now been convicted out of 297 charged.

The force will also receive more than £11m in funding - £1m less than it had hoped - to cover operational costs during the riots.

Last month it was confirmed more than 2,700 jobs are to be cut within the force by 2015 - 450 more than expected.

It needs to save £126m in the next four years.

The figures come from Chief Constable Chris Sims's final report on the disorder to West Midlands Police Authority, to be discussed at a meeting next week.

Officers made 770 arrests in connection with disorder in the West Midlands.
