Birmingham police officer attacks suspect charged
A man who was arrested after two police officers were attacked has been charged.
The 52-year-old is accused of grievous bodily harm and assault causing actual bodily harm after the officers were injured.
The officers were attending a property in Birmingham when one was slashed in the face and the other was punched. They were later treated in hospital.
The charged man is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court later.
He was detained after the incident, in Yardley Wood Road, Springfield, at about 15:30 GMT on Sunday.
Both officers were discharged from hospital following treatment, West Midlands Police said.
