A family of five were found by their mobile phone signal after becoming lost while on a walk on Ilkley Moor.
The family had split up into two groups and lost their way near the Stanza Stones, which are about an hour's walk from the landmark Cow and Calf rocks.
As it became dark they called police, who contacted fell rescue teams in Upper Wharfedale and the Calder Valley at about 19:15 GMT on Saturday.
The group was cold but uninjured, fell rescuers said.
Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) said its volunteers and those from the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team worked together and walked the family back to their car.
