M49 Bristol crash: Driver of broken-down vehicle dies

The driver of a broken-down vehicle has died after a crash involving a van on a motorway.

The collision happened on the M49 near Bristol at around 05:45 BST.

A man in his 60s died. Another man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail.

The motorway was closed in both directions for around eight hours. National Highways say the road has now reopened, but there is still congestion in the area.
