Paralympic sprint champion Jonnie Peacock is to have a gold postbox painted in his honour in Doddington in Cambridgeshire.

The 19-year-old, who won gold last week in the T44 100m, will have a postbox painted in the village where his mother and stepfather live, Royal Mail said.

He previously could not decide where he wanted one, having family links with four other places in the local area.

The postbox outside the village post office will be painted gold later.

First class stamps featuring his image are also being produced by Royal Mail.

The Cambridge-born sprinter, who had his right leg amputated below the knee after contracting meningitis aged five, set a new Paralympic 100m record on Thursday.

Doddington Parish Council confirmed it was looking to do "something to mark his achievement", but had not yet decided how to celebrate.
