Driver dies after Soham collision between Mini and lorry

A man has died following a collision between a Mini and a lorry.

It happened on the A142 at Soham, near Cambridge, at about 10:25 GMT.

Cambridgeshire Police officers were called to reports of a collision between a Mercedes Actros HGV and a black Mini.

Police and paramedics attended and closed the road, but the driver of the Mini, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Det Insp Garry Webb said: "A man has tragically lost his life in this collision and my thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time."
