M6: Man dies in three-vehicle Warwickshire crash
A man has died in a crash on the M6 motorway in Warwickshire.
The collision, just before 07:25 GMT, involved a car, a van and a lorry. The southbound carriageway was closed from junctions 4A for the M42 and 3A for the M6 Toll, but has since reopened.
The driver of the car was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where he was confirmed dead, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
The man, in his 40s, was the only person injured in the crash, it added.
Warwickshire Police said his family had been informed and officers have appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
Detectives said that a red Fiat Punto, a white Renault traffic van and a Mercedes HGV were involved in the crash.
The crash caused congestion back to junction five, as well as on the northbound M42.
