Furness General Hospital norovirus outbreak closes ward
A hospital ward in Cumbria has been closed following an outbreak of norovirus.
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust said diarrhoea and vomiting had broken out amongst patients at Furness General Hospital.
Ward nine is closed to admissions and visitors are asked not to visit with children.
A trust spokesman apologised for the disruption caused and said it was hoped the outbreak could be resolved quickly.
