A body has been found in a search for a boy who went missing after going into a river.

Emergency services were called to the River Eden at Rickerby Park in Carlisle at 21:00 BST on Saturday when a teenage boy got into difficulties in the water.

Cumbria Police said a body has now been recovered in the river following a major search operation.

The body was pulled from the water near Stoney Holme, but formal identification has not yet taken place.

On Crummock Water, the search is still ongoing for a man in his 30s from London, who went missing in the lake on Friday afternoon.

Police said roads in the area, which had been closed during the operation, have now been reopened.
