Delayed Buxton pool 'to be completed in April'
The delayed refurbishment of a Derbyshire town's swimming pool is due to be completed in April.
The 拢2m project at Buxton had been scheduled to finish in June 2010, but was delayed by problems including the discovery of asbestos.
The facility closed in 2009 for the revamp, which includes new changing rooms, new windows and a gym.
High Peak Borough Council leader Tony Ashton said the scheme had been "difficult and complex".
He said: "I'm most grateful to our customers and partners for their patience during this protracted project.
"However, I do hope that when people see the new facilities they will agree that it's been worth the wait."
Work on the pool is due to finish on 4 April, and the gym is expected to be completed by 26 April.
The council said it would then need up to three weeks to clean the facilities and iron out any minor problems before opening.
