A man in his 70s was pushed to the ground and repeatedly punched in the face in a road rage attack in Derbyshire.
Police said it happened after the victim was almost hit by a car leaving Lidl in Nottingham Road, Ripley, on Thursday afternoon.
Police said as he walked past the car, which had stopped, he shouted at the driver about the near-miss.
The driver then got out of his vehicle and attacked him.
Derbyshire Police said the victim told officers he was pushed over before being punched in the face a number of times.
The force said a woman was seen getting out of the car and pulling the man away.
The assault, which happened between 12:30 and 13:00 GMT, is believed to have been witnessed by multiple people.
Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
