Baslow: Man charged after woman stabbed in Peak District village

A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a woman.
Police said officers were called to a house in Wheatlands Lane, in Baslow, Derbyshire, shortly after 14:00 GMT on Thursday following reports a woman had been stabbed.
A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Mark Taylor, 56, has been charged with attempted murder and coercive and controlling behaviour.
Mr Taylor, of Wheatlands Lane, Baslow, was remanded in police custody and after appearing at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court was remanded to prison.
Police said the woman has since been discharged from hospital.
