Elderly man hit by coach in Torquay crash in critical condition

An elderly man has been airlifted to hospital with "life-threatening injuries" after he was hit by a coach.

The man, who has not been named, was struck at the junction of Belgrave Road and Falkland Road in Torquay at 09:16 GMT, police said.

He is being treated at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth for "horrendous leg injuries", a police spokesman said.

The area has been cordoned off and drivers are warned to expect "significant" delays.
