A 10-year-old boy had to be rescued after becoming stuck up to his waist in mud in Dorset.

Lyme Regis Coastguard Rescue Team pulled the boy out of the mud, close to Charmouth, using specialist mud rescue equipment, on Saturday afternoon.

Minutes later, the West Bay Coastguard Rescue team was sent to rescue a Labrador that fell over the cliff at Golden Cap, to the east of Charmouth.

The three-year-old dog, Lola, was recovered from a ledge.

The animal was found 20ft (6m) down the 623ft (190m) cliff.
