Inquiry after man found shot dead in Bournemouth
A man in his twenties who was found dead at a property in Bournemouth was shot, police have said.
Dorset Police said they have launched a murder inquiry following the discovery of the body at an address in Roumelia Lane in Boscombe at 02:26 BST.
Det Ch Insp Kevin Connolly said: "I understand the victim, a man believed to be in his twenties, sustained a gunshot wound."
The man has not been formally identified but next of kin are aware.
Mr Connolly said: "I am especially keen to speak with anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the area of Windsor Road, Roumelia Lane, Cecil Road and Sea Road between midnight and 4am.
"I would like to reassure members of the public that an extensive investigation is ongoing and there is no immediate concern for the safety of the community."
