The man went missing on Saturday while diving off the coast of Lulworth Cove

An air and sea search is under way for a diver who is missing off Dorset's Jurassic Coast.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said the man was reported missing in Lulworth Cove at about 20:15 BST on Saturday.

A search involving coastguard Rescue teams, RNLI crews, police and the search and rescue helicopter from Lee-on-Solent was launched.

It was suspended overnight due to low light before resuming earlier.

Ch Insp Gavin House, from Dorset Police, said teams "including specially-trained marine officers, have been carrying out extensive searches well into the early hours of this morning".

"We would like to hear for anyone who was out on the water in the area and may have any information that could assist us," he said.

Police said efforts were under way to inform the man's next of kin, who live abroad.
