Essex Police officers stabbed in Chelmsford
Two police officers have been stabbed in Chelmsford.
Essex Police they were "approached by a woman with a knife" in Springfield Road at about 23:00 on Friday.
One was stabbed in the leg and is awaiting surgery. The other received a serious wound to the hand.
A 50-year-old woman, who received a head injury in the incident, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.
The officers were responding to reports of concern for the welfare of a person, a force spokeswoman said.
The arrested woman is being treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, but her injury is not thought to be serious.
