South Ockendon murder: Man killed in 'brazen attack'
A man has died in what detectives say was a "brazen assault in broad daylight".
The victim was attacked by two men in South Ockendon's Dilkes Park at about 15:00 GMT on Thursday.
Essex Police say he died at the scene and detectives are treating the death as murder.
Officers say the area was busy and asked anyone with photographs or videos of the attack to contact the force.
'Targeted attack'
Det Ch Insp Martin Pasmore said: "This was a brazen assault in broad daylight in a busy part of South Ockendon.
"There would have been a lot of people around at the time of the attack and I believe there would have been a number of people who saw what happened."
Police say the killing is believed to have been a "targeted attack" and urged anyone with information to contact them or call Crimestoppers.
