A best-selling author is backing a campaign to fight library closures.
Gloucestershire County Council wants to hand over 11 libraries to volunteers as part of plans to save £108m over the next four years.
Joanna Trollope, who grew up in the county, has given her support to Friends of Gloucestershire Libraries.
She said she hoped the authority would listen to objections. A council spokesman said the plans were unavoidable.
Difficult decisions had to be made, he added.
