Pedestrian, 19, hit by car in Cotswolds 'critical'
A man is in a critical condition after being hit by a car as he walked along a main road in the Cotswolds.
South Western Ambulance said crews were called at 05:22 BST to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
The man, 19, who suffered serious head injuries, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
The A433 Tetbury Road in Cirencester was closed for several hours but has now reopened.
It is believed the man was walking along the road between Culkerton Crossroads and the A429 junction at the time of the crash.
Gloucestershire Police said his next of kin had been informed.
A spokesman said: "The A433 from the Culkerton crossroads to the A429 Kemble junction will remain closed while inquiries continue and this could take some time.
"A diversion is in place at the A429 junction."
