A man has been caught aiming a laser beam at a police helicopter.

The National Police Air Service crew were targeted as they flew over Southampton on Monday while assisting officers on the ground in a search.

Hampshire police said it quickly identified the source of the laser, seized the device and made an arrest under the Laser Misuse Act 2018.

The force said a 60-year-old man was given a police caution for shining a laser beam at an aircraft.
