Ventnor: Power restored after tree crashes onto cables
More than 1,200 island homes and businesses were left without power after a tree came down and landed on power cables.
The fallen tree cut power to postcodes PO30 and PO38 near Ventnor on the Isle of Wight, shortly before 09:00 GMT.
Engineers from Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) cut away the tree and made repairs.
Electricity was restored to buildings in the area by 15:00, according to the power firm.
