Niton church: Bid to turn empty building into yoga studio
- Published
A church that has been empty for 15 years could soon be brought back into community use.
Plans to turn St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Niton into a yoga studio are being considered by Isle of Wight Council.
Yoga instructor Emma McGillivray wants to bring the building back into use and make it available to rent for events.
Planning permission was previously granted to turn it into a house but the conversion was never carried out.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the latest proposals do not involve any alterations to the 18th-century building apart from redecoration.
Comments on the plans can be submitted until 26 April.
